Video Game Music for the Holidays - Volume VI

Tis the season once again for holiday hustle and shuffle, and with such, a barrage of jolly jingles.  As is a  yearly tradition among my friends and family these past 6 years now, I compile a collection of music from video games that fit the vibe of the holidays.  If you enjoy the spirit of the holidays, but would appreciate some variety to these tunes, hopefully such will fit just that bill.

For this particular volume, I was incredibly moved by the musical motifs found in Tetsuya Mizuguchi's latest works of Tetris Effect.  Using this as a base to begin with, the song selection of this album focuses on themes of reflection and unity.  I chose KK Slider for this year's animation due to the inclusion of Animal Crossing in this year's playlist and his suave musical persona.  Keep an eye on him during the video as he'll switch to and from his guitar / headphones should the particular music track contain acoustic accompaniments.  I hope you all enjoy the soulful and meditative tunes of this year's album.  And if interested in listening to more Holiday Ambience, you can view a playlist of all six volumes here.  That's nearly 5 hours worth of merry melodies for your listening pleasure!

Go to the YouTube pages for time stamps to jump to the desired track, and for links to support some of these many talented artists.  If you have a particular favorite track or other notable music from games you wish to share, please comment and discuss below!  I'll always appreciate suggestions for next year's volume of Holiday Ambience.

For those who noticed the lack of Throwback Thursday and Sunday comics this week, my apologies as other projects and life took precedence this week.  Fear not though, as such should return as regularly scheduled.  And look forward to the upcoming 2018 Year in Review.  Until then, enjoy this gift of music and have a very happy holiday!
